These plants, grown <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in vitro<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and then in the greenhouse, present a mutation in a gene linked to susceptibility to downy mildew, a devastating disease for vine crops. Laboratory tests have confirmed that these vines have greater resistance to this disease, opening new prospects for the future of viticulture. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The experiment, conducted in the heart of Valpolicella, one of Italy\u2019s most renowned wine regions, represents a crucial step in a context where climate change and fungal diseases seriously threaten global wine production. Developing resistant vines offers concrete solutions for winemakers and allows them to reduce the use of plant protection products, promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This important milestone was made possible thanks to the collaboration with academic institutions and the support of local authorities, who understood the importance of experimentation.
