Scientific Advisors

Marianna Fasoli - team EdiVite

Professor of General Arboriculture and Tree Cultivation at the University of Verona. She holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnologies applied to viticulture and has worked at E. Gallo Winery (USA), where she applied her research in an industrial setting. At EdiVite, she focuses on the study of molecular regulation of grape development and ripening.

Mario Pezzotti - team EdiVite

Professor of Agricultural Genetics. He has held positions such as Vice-Rector for Research and Technology Transfer at the University of Verona, Director of the Research and Innovation Center at the Edmund Mach Foundation, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Council for Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economics, President of the Italian Society of Agricultural Genetics and President of Startcup Veneto. He applies his expertise in plant genetics and genomics and plant biotechnologies at EdiVite.

Annalisa Polverari - team EdiVite

Professor of Plant Pathology and Vine Protection at the University of Verona. With a degree in Agricultural Sciences, her research focuses on plant-pathogen interactions, the molecular basis of plant disease resistance and related biotechnological applications. At EdiVite, she evaluates resistance in grapevine clones edited for resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew.

Giovanni Battista Tornielli - team EdiVite

Professor of General Arboriculture and Tree Cultivation at the University of Padua. He holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Ph.D. in Alcology. His expertise primarily covers the study of environmental and agronomic practice effects on vine growth and grape ripening physiology. He supervises the phenotypic and agronomic evaluation of regenerated plants at EdiVite.

Sara Zenoni - team EdiVite

Professor of Agricultural Genetics at the University of Verona. She holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnologies and has focused her scientific career on the genetics and genetic improvement of agriculturally important plants. At EdiVite, she specializes in the functional characterization of grapevine genes to produce genetically improved clones.

Edoardo Bertini - team EdiVite

He obtained a degree in Agro-Food Biotechnologies and a Ph.D. in Biotechnologies applied to viticulture from the University of Verona. He coordinates and oversees company research and experimentation activities, with a special focus on somatic embryogenesis, plant regeneration from protoplasts and the application of advanced technologies for the genetic improvement of grapevine varieties.

Erica D'Incà - team EdiVite

He obtained a degree in Agro-Food Biotechnologies and a Ph.D. in Biotechnologies applied to viticulture from the University of Verona. She focuses on the functional characterization of grapevine genes using biotechnological and molecular approaches, with an emphasis on grapevine genetic improvement. She is responsible for laboratory activities and the administrative management of the company.

Stefano Magagna - team EdiVite

Legal Representative and President of EdiVite, with extensive experience in the business, insurance and viticulture sectors. He acts as an insurance intermediary on a national level for Agrisicura S.A.S. and is a partner in two viticulture companies, Vititaly Società Agricola S.S. and Agricola Italiana.

Roberta Bonomi - team EdiVite

With a diploma in accounting, she collaborates with the family-owned agricultural business in the wine sector and works as an employee at an industrial company.

Andrea Cavaggioni - team EdiVite

Vinegrower with a solid background in agriculture. Graduated as an Agricultural Expert, his professional experience includes working in hail damage assessment and as a plant protection technician. He currently manages the family-owned winery.

Giandomenico Dal Cero - team EdiVite

Vinegrower with extensive experience in the agricultural sector. He is the owner of Azienda Agricola Dal Cero Giandomenico in Gambellara (Vicenza, Italy) and manages wine production as well as cherry cultivation. He also has experience in the equine sector and has served as President of the Coldiretti Youth Movement in Vicenza. Currently, he focuses primarily on his own winery, which spans 60 hectares of vineyards.

Valentino Dal Cero - team EdiVite

Graduated as an Agricultural Expert, he works at the family-owned winery.

Simone Frigotto - team EdiVite

Graduated as an Agricultural Expert with a specialization in viticulture and oenology, he is the owner of the eponymous agricultural company in the wine sector. He is currently studying for a degree in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Verona.

Enzo Sommadossi - team EdiVite

Nursery manager with extensive experience in the wine sector. Graduated as an Agricultural Expert, he has actively participated in the family-owned viticultural nursery and has provided consulting services to external clients, establishing solid relationships in the agricultural sector. He has held administrative roles at Cantina Toblino s.c.a.r.l. (Trento, Italy). He is the owner of ‘Vivai Sommadossi Enzo’ which specializes in wine grape production (approximately 10 hectares) and grafted vine cuttings (approximately 50 hectares, 2 million grafts).
